San Antonio upended Minnesota 113-112 at home Saturday night, winning outright as a 10.5-point underdog, in their previous contest. Washington earned their first win under coach Brian Keefe as they took down the Pistons in a battle of Eastern Conference doormats Saturday afternoon. The Wizards entered Sunday 8-37 on the season and are in the cellar of the Southeast Division, 15.5 games behind the Heat for the top spot in the division. They were 17.5 games behind the Pacers for the final guaranteed playoff spot and 10 games back of the Nets for the final spot in the play-in tournament. Against Detroit, Washington trailed by as many as 12 in the opening quarter before closing the stanza on a 20-5 run to take a three-point lead after 12 minutes. The Wizards were down two at the half and led by two after three quarters before outscoring the Pistons 31-19 in the fourth to earn the victory. Washington shot 45% from the floor, including 11 of 34 from three-point range, and held a 50-45 edge on the glass while forcing 17 turnovers in the win. Kyle Kuzma led the Wizards with 30 points in the win.

On the season, the Wizards are 16th in the league in scoring offense with 115.1 points per game. Washington is 30th in rebounding by grabbing 40.3 boards a night while they stand 9th in assists by dishing out 28 dimes a contest. The Wizards are 20th in threes per game as they drain 12.1 triples per contest and they stand 27th in three-point shooting by connecting on 35.2% of their attempts from beyond the arc.
