The Gonzaga Bulldogs are on the road as they travel down the west coast to take on the Pacific Tigers Saturday night. Gonzaga was at home Thursday night as they hosted San Francisco in a matchup of teams in the upper echelon of the conference and held on for a 77-72 win, though they failed to cover the line as a 9.5-point favorite. Pacific was on the road as they traveled to face Saint Mary’s Thursday night and was steamrolled 76-28, failing to cover the line as a 27-point underdog. In the all-time series between the programs, the Bulldogs own a commanding 21-1 advantage and have won the last 19 meetings. That includes a 99-90 road victory in the most recent matchup on January 21, 2023.

Gonzaga won their third straight and their fifth in the last six games as they outlasted San Francisco at home in a tight contest Thursday night. The Bulldogs improved to 14-5 overall and stand third in the WCC with a 5-1 mark in conference play this season. Against San Francisco, Gonzaga trailed by as many as four in the first half and led by as many as six only to trail by one at intermission. The Bulldogs trailed by two with 10:40 to play before going on a 19-4 run that put them in front 65-52 with 3:13 remaining only to have to hang on after the Dons got within three in the final minute. Gonzaga shot 46.2% from the field, including seven of 21 from three-point range, and forced 15 turnovers to overcome a 41-32 beating on the glass. Graham Ike led the Bulldogs with 22 points and seven rebounds in the victory.

The Bulldogs have been lighting up scoreboards this season, piling up an average of 85.1 points per game, which is 12th in the nation. Gonzaga collects 41.7 rebounds per contest (9th) and dishes out 16.6 assists per night on the year. The Bulldogs are 102nd in scoring defense by allowing 68.2 points a night. Braden Huff is one of five Bulldogs in double figures as he puts up 10.8 points and 4.2 rebounds per game this season. Graham Ike (15 points, 7.5 rebounds), Anton Watson (14.8 points, 7.5 rebounds), Nolan Hickman (12.5 points, 2.4 assists) and Ryan Nembhard (12.5 points, 3.9 rebounds, 6.4 assists) are all good scoring options. Dusty Stromer, Ben Gregg, Jun Seok Yeo, Colby Brooks, Luka Krajnovic and Joe Few are solid contributors for coach Mark Few. Gonzaga is shooting 50.2% from the field as a team this season, which is 7th in the country. The Bulldogs are averaging 6.7 three-pointers a night on 32.7% shooting f rom beyond the arc. Gonzaga is struggling at the charity stripe as they convert 68.9% of their chances this season.
