The offense has been great but defense has carried the Kings, allowing only 2.58 goals per game. Drew Doughty and Michael Anderson have combined for 6.7 defensive point shares and 174 blocked shots while Matt Roy, Vladislav Gavrikov, and Jordan Spence have combined for 6.8 defensive point shares to add depth to the unit. In addition, goaltender Cam Talbot has stepped up with a .913 save percentage and a 2.52 goals-against average on 885 shots with 8.5 goals saved above average.
