The Florida Panthers face the Pittsburgh Penguins with both teams looking to build off of strong seasons. The Panthers have a 29-14-4 record and with two wins in a row, they have leaped into second place in the Atlantic Division. The Penguins have a 21-17-6 record but with back-to-back losses, they have fallen into seventh place in the Metropolitan Division. Both teams look to improve in the Eastern Conference and the upcoming game should be a good one.

The Panthers are having a great season with their offense stepping up and scoring 3.23 goals per game. Sam Reinhart and Carter Verhaeghe have scored 59 goals and 50 assists to lead the top line but the rest of the offense has been great as well. Matthew Tkachuk, Aleksander Barkov, and Evan Rodrigues have combined for 33 goals and 89 assists while defensemen Oliver Ekman-Larsson and Gustav Forsling have added 15 goals and 28 assists from the point to open up the offense.

 

The offense has been great but the defense has carried the Panthers, allowing only 2.60 goals per game with only three goals in the last two games. Gustav Forsling and Aaron Ekblad have combined for 7.6 defensive point shares and 100 blocked shots while Niko Mikkola, Dmitry Kulikov, and Oliver Ekman-Larsson have combined for 6.1 defensive point shares to add depth to the unit.
