The NBA is powering through to the All-Star break but we still have games to play as the Minnesota Timberwolves (30-13, 21-20-2 ATS) travel to take on the Brooklyn Nets (17-26, 20-21-2 ATS) on Thursday. Minnesota will be on their second night of a back to back as they play in Washington on Wednesday (Note: This article was published before the results of the T-Wolves/Wizards game). In their most recent game, the T-Wolves lost to Charlotte 128-125 as 13.5-point home favorites. Brooklyn is coming off a loss the the Knicks, going down 108-103 as 3.5-point home dogs. This is the first of two matchups between these teams this season. Tipoff is scheduled for 7:30 EST from the Barclays Center in Brooklyn.

Karl-Anthony Towns was absolutely on first last game against the Hornets, he had 44 points in the first half and finished with 10 made threes in the game. The trouble came in the 4th quarter where the big man eventually cooled off, but did not stop shooting in an attempt to chase the record books. He was eventually benched in the 4th, and the Hornets won the period 36-18 on the way to a three point win. Towns finished 62 points, while the next highest scorer was Nickiel Alexander-Walker with 18 in the game.

Anthony Edwards is still the leading scorer for Minnesota with 25.5 PPG while adding 5.4 RPG and 5.2 APG. He is the top shooter with 2.4 made threes per game on 37.5% shooting from deep. Edwards only had nine points in the Hornet game, but did have 11 assists as he helped to find the hot hand. Towns upped his scoring average to 22.5 PPG after his big game, and he also adds 8.8 RPG. There is a sharp drop after the top two scorers, next up is defensive big man Rudy Gobert at 13.2 PPG. Gobert is a nominee for Defensive player of the Year again, he blocks 2.1 shots per game and grabs 12.5 RPG. Jaden McDaniels is an athletic wing defender in the starting lineup scoring 11.0 PPG, and Naz Reid is their scorer off the bench, he adds 12.8 PPG.

Mike Conley is the veteran point guard for the Wolves, he only scored 10.9 PPG but adds a team high 6.4 APG. Nickiel Alexander-Walker is in and out of the starting lineup, he adds 6.7 PPG from the perimete r. Minnesota ranks 18th in offensive efficiency and 1st in defensive efficiency according to dunksandthrees.com. They do not play very fast offensively, the T-Wolves rank 22nd in the league in pace of play.
