The Blackhawks are having a rough season with their offense letting them down, scoring only 2.17 goals per game with only four goals in their last three games. Jason Dickinson and Philipp Kurashev have combined for 23 goals and 24 assists but the rest of the offense has struggled. Only three active skaters have seven goals or more and opponents can eliminate the hapless offense as a result.

The offense has struggled but the defense has also been a mess, allowing 3.53 goals per game. Alex Vlasic and Seth Jones have combined for 4.4 defensive point shares but the rest of the unit has struggled, allowing opponents to find open shots on the net at will. The one bright spot has been the play of goaltender Petr Mrazek who has a .907 save percentage and a 3.01 goals-against average on 969 shots with 3.5 goals saved above average.
