The Memphis Grizzlies briefly had a look into what could have been this season when Ja' Morant returned to the lineup following his suspension. They were scoring much better and the wins started to come. It was shortlived, however, as Morant injured his shoulder in a workout and was lost for the season. The Grizzlies are now likely resigned to a playoff-less season in 2023-24. On Monday night, the Grizzlies took down the new-look Toronto Raptores 108-100 on the road. Jaren Jackson Jr. led the way with 27 points and a career-high six steals. Luke Kennard added a season-high 19 points and Vince Williams Jr. had a double-double of 18 points and 10 rebounds.

“We just finished the game this time,” Williams said. “We just came out, played hard, got a lot of transition points and made them shoot tough shots all night.”

The Memphis Grizzlies are looking for rare back-to-back wins as they head to Miami on Wednesday night. The Grizzlies, having played most of the year without Morant, are 29th in the NBA in scoring offense this season. They are 29th in field goal percentage and last in the league in 3-point shooting. The Grizzlies are surprisingly 9th in the NBA in 3-point field goals made per game despite their poor shooting percentage. The Grizzlies are 13th in scoring defense this season. They are 15th in field goal defense and just 26th in 3-point defense. On the glass, the Grizzlies are 17th in total rebounds per game. The team is 22nd in turnovers per game this season.

Key Injuries: Morant is out for the season. G Desmond Bain and G Marcus Smart are both out. G Derek Rose is day-to-day.
