The Missouri Tigers join Vanderbilt as the only two teams who have yet to win a game in league play. They are also one of the worst teams in the nation against the spread, as they have only covered in 22.2% of their games this season, which is the 3rd worst mark in all of college basketball. Missouri has not covered in any of their league games this season, including two losses where they were the favorite to Georgia and South Carolina. The Tigers are led by 6'3 senior guard Sean East II with 15.9 PPG and 3.7 APG. East has been quiet as of late, he has only scored six points in each of the last two games. Tamar Bates is a 6'5 junior coming off the huge scoring game against Florida, he is averaging 12.7 PPG, but is just a scorer as he averages under two points and assists per game. Bates has been scoring more lately, he has had double figures in each of his last eight games including 36 against Florida and 25 against Central Arkansas. Their best frontcourt player is Noah Carter, he is an undersized 6'6 forward adding 12.4 PPG and 5.4 RPG. The top shooter on the team is 5'10 senior Nick Honor, he has 40 made threes on the season of 40.0% shooting from deep while adding another 10.7 PPG.
Missouri is currently ranked 113th overall according to KenPom. They rank 89th in offensive efficiency and 154th in defensive efficiency. The Tigers play slow on offense, their tempo ranks 270th out of 362 Division I teams. The SEC currently is projected to get eight teams into the NCAA Tournament according to Joe Lunardi's Bracketology, but Missouri currently would not receive a bid.
