The Kent State Golden Flashes are on the road as they make the trip to take on the Bowling Green Falcons Tuesday night. Kent State comes in off a 77-71 home loss to Akron Friday night in their previous contest, losing outright as a one-point favorite. Bowling Green beat Western Michigan 84-79 at home Saturday in their previous game, though they failed to cover the line as a nine-point favorite. In the all-time series between the teams, the Falcons own a 73-72 advantage but the Golden Flashes have won the last eight matchups. Kent State lost for the fourth time in five games as they were upended at home by Akron in their previous contest Friday night. The Golden Flashes fell to 9-9 overall and stand 2-4 in the MAC, leaving them eighth in the standings. Against Akron, Kent State led 3-0 but gave up a 17-1 run to trail 17-4: they trailed the rest of the way en route to the loss. The Golden Flashes were down 14 at the half and by as many as 20 in the game. In the second half, Kent State climbed within three in the closing minutes but couldn’t get even down the stretch. The Golden Flashes shot 40.4% from the floor, including nine of 25 from three-point range, and lost the rebounding battle 42-32 in the game. Giovanni Santiago led Kent State with 16 points off the bench in the loss.
