The offense has been great but the defense has been one the best in the NHL, allowing only 2.28 goals per game with only 15 goals in the last 10 games. Dylan DeMelo and Josh Morrissey have combined for 7.3 defensive point shares and 142 blocked shots while Brenden Dillon, Neal Pionk, and Dylan Samberg have combined for 7.2 defensive point shares to add depth to the unit. In addition, goaltender Connor Hellebuyck has been great with a .925 save percentage and a 2.19 goals-against average on 933 shots with 19.9 goals saved above average.
