The Arizona Coyotes opened their three-game road trip with a 6-0 victory over the Minnesota Wild on Saturday. The victory was impressive considering that Arizona went 1-4-0 on the recent five-game homestand. The Coyotes are 8-9-2 on the road.

Connor Ingram was impressive at the start, stopping all 38 shots he faced. It was his fifth shutout of the season, as the Coyotes netminder is 15-8-0 with a 2.51 GAA and a .919 save percentage. That was a well-needed performance as Ingram and Karel Vejmelka (6-10-2, 3.32, .899) had combined to give up 25 goals through the first five games of January but Arizona is 14th in goals-against average (3.00).

The Coyotes were firing on all cylinders, scoring three goals in the first, t wo in the second, and one in the third for the victory. Nick Bjugstad had a hat trick and Clayton Keller had two goals and an assist. Keller now has seven points over his last five games. Arizona is 19th in goals per game (3.02).
