The Baltimore Orioles and Washington Nationals face off on Wednesday in an MLB showdown at Nationals Park. On Tuesday it was the Orioles that were able to secure the 4-3 victory.
The Orioles sit with a 74-7 record overall and they had lost two games in a row before winning on Tuesday. The Orioles have leaned on their pitching this season, and the offense has been a bit inconsistent. The Orioles offense is averaging 4.16 runs per game which is 21st in the league. Ryan Mountcastle is having a big season hitting 22 home runs and driving in 79 RBIs so far this season.
On the other side of this matchup is the Nationals who sit with a 49-93 record overall and they have lost four games in a row. The Nationals' offense hasn’t been great, but even worse has been the pitching. THe Nationals are giving up 5.33 runs per game which is 29th in the league. Nelson Cruz has been strong for the Nationals and he has hit 10 home runs and driven in 64 RBIs so far this season.
