Atlanta Braves vs. San Francisco Giants Prediction, Preview, and Odds – 9-14-2022

The Atlanta Braves (87-54, 72- 69 RL, 72-61-8 O/U) clash with the San Francisco Giants (68-73, 65-76 RL, 67-66-8 O/U) as the NL foes conclude a three-game NL series on Wednesday afternoon. The Braves will send Charlie Morton to the hill, seeking his ninth victory. The Giants will answer with ace Carlos Rodon. The Braves lead the season series 3-2.

The Braves will have Charlie Morton on the hill. Morton was subpar last time out, conceding four runs including three homers in 6.1 innings against the Mariners and registered the win to improve his record to 8-5. The veteran right-hander has been inconsistent recently, allowing nine runs in his last three starts, and enters with a 4.08 ERA and a 1.19 WHIP in 152.1 innings pitched. Morton has dominated the Giants in his career, going 4-5 with a stifling 2.55 ERA.

Atlanta had taken a one-game lead ahead of the Mets for one day and is now 1.5 games back of the rivals for the top spot in the NL East. The Braves dropped a key series to the Mariners last weekend and are 3-3 on their current nine-game trek after dropping Monday's series opener.

Matt Olson has been productive against the Giants this season, dri ving in six runs along with a .788 OPS. The 28-year-old first baseman is having a fantastic season, clubbing 28 homers with 91 RBIs and an .803 OPS. Olson has only posted four RBIs this month.

The Braves are posting 4.96 runs per game, ranking them second. The pitching staff features a 3.51 team ERA, landing them sixth overall.
