The Indiana Pacers are on the road as they travel to take on the Denver Nuggets Sunday afternoon. Indiana comes in off a 126-108 road win over Atlanta in their previous contest Friday night, winning outright as a six-point underdog. Denver dropped New Orleans 125-113 at home Friday night in their previous game, covering the line as a 5.5-point favorite. In the all-time regular season series between the teams, the Nuggets own a 52-46 edge and have won the last six meetings. That includes a 134-111 home win in the most recent matchup on January 20, 2023.

Indiana won their third straight contest as they rolled past Atlanta in their previous contest on the road Friday night. The Pacers improved to 23-15 on the season and stood second in the Central Division, three games behind the Bucks for the top spot. They were fourth in the Eastern Conference playoff picture, six games behind the Celtics for the top spot and one game ahead of Miami to remain in a guaranteed playoff spot. Against Atlanta, Indiana used a 23-4 run spanning the first and second quarters to turn a tie game into a 19-point lead and led the rest of the way. The Pacers saw their lead trimmed to six at the half and didn’t let the Hawks closer than that in the second half en route to the win. Indiana shot a blistering 67.1% from the floor, including 11 of 18 from three-point range, and overcame turning the ball over 25 times in the win. Obi Toppin and Buddy Hield each had 18 points off the bench to lead eight Pacers in doubl e figures in the victory.

For the year, Indiana is 1st in the league in scoring offense with 126.6 points per game this season. The Pacers are 29th in rebounding with an average of 40.8 boards a night while they are 1st in assists by dishing out 31.2 dimes per contest. Indiana is 28th in scoring defense as they allow an average of 123.4 points per game on the year. Tyrese Haliburton leads the Pacers in scoring with 23.6 points plus 12.5 assists per game. Bennedict Mathurin (14.7 points), Buddy Hield (12.6 points, 3.2 rebounds, 2.5 assists), Myles Turner (17.4 points, 7.4 rebounds, two blocks), Jalen Smith (10.1 points, 5.4 rebounds) and Bruce Brown (11.9 points, 4.5 rebounds) are solid scoring options this season. Aaron Nesmith (11.8 points), Obi Toppin (11.8 points), Jordan Nwora, Jarace Walker, T.J. McConnell, Andrew Nembhard and Isaiah Jackson are other rotation pieces for Indiana. The Pacers ar e 1st in the league in field goal percentage as they are shooting 51.2% from the floor as a team. Indiana is 5th in the league in threes per game as they splash 14.4 triples per contest and the team is 3rd by shooting 38.5% from beyond the arc on the year.

Haliburton (hamstring) last played on January 8 and is expected to be out until late January. Walker (lung) missed the last two games and is questionable here. Watch for any information regarding his status heading toward tip-off.
