The Los Angeles Angels (61-80, 66-75 RL, 59-68-14 O/U) battle the Cleveland Guardians (74-65, 72-67 RL, 63-70-6 O/U)  in the three-game series finale on Wednesday afternoon. The Angels will have Patrick Sandoval on the hill. The Guardians will counter with Cal Quantrill. The Angels lead the season series by a 4-1 mark.

Patrick Sandoval will make his 24th start of the season in the series finale. Sandoval was outstanding in his previous start, holding the Tigers to only one run in five innings, and finished with another no-decision. The veteran left-hander has been the Angels' top starter, registering a stifling 2.98 ERA and a 1.35 WHIP accompanied by a 5-9 record in 127 innings pitched on the year. Sandoval logged seven scoreless innings against the Guardians in April and has allowed five runs with a 1-1 record in 14.1 career innings against the AL foes.

The Halos have been competitive recently. They have won two out of their last four series including a series triumph against the Yankees in that span, along with two wins in three meetings against the Tigers. They lost two of three against the Astros last weekend.

Taylor Ward had a huge series against Cleveland in Ap ril delivering three home runs and nine RBIs in four games and walked three times on Monday. The 28-year-old is having a productive season, bashing 18 big flies with 51 RBIs and a .796 OPS. Ward has collected four RBIs on the month. 

The Angels are only averaging 3.84 runs on the season, pegging them 26th overall. The pitching staff has filed a 3.83 team ERA, good for ninth in the big leagues.
