The Monmouth Hawks are now 9-6 on the season and 2-0 in the CAA following an 81-62 win over Northeastern on Monday night. Xander Rice led the way with a game-high 29 points after an impressive shooting night. Rice was 11-of-12 from the field overall including 5-of-5 from 3-point range. The Hawks were dominant from start to finish in this game and led by as many as 27 points en route to their ninth win of the season.

“Today, we decided to cut the floor in half and I think that was really the key to us being solid enough to be able to get going the other way.” said Monmouth head coach King Rice after the victory.

Monmouth is off to a fast start in CAA play with two straight wins to open conference play. The Hawks are 226th in scoring offense this season.
