Bill Belichick Next Team Odds & Prediction: Will Patriots Legend Leave New England?iv class=”bodyContent col-lg-9 mb-3″>

We're diving into Bill Belichick's next team odds from one of our best sports betting apps, and  there's a real chance his long tenure with the New England Patriots is reaching its end.

It once didn't seem fathomable that Bill Belichick could be a head coach anywhere else but in New England, where he's won six Super Bowls while appearing in nine, and tallied an incredible 17 division titles.

But those glory days predictably faded fast for the Patriots after the departure of Tom Brady. The Pats still made the playoffs once in 2021 after the future Hall of Fame quarterback left. But they've missed the postseason during three of the past four campaigns, and the team hit rock bottom in 2023 with a 3-14 record.

A run with that sort of futility is difficult for even a legendary coach to survive. There's murkiness tied to Belichick's s tatus in New England, and any severing of ties could be a drawn-out process. For now, he remains the team's sideline boss after a meeting on Monday with owner Robert Kraft, according to Jeff Howe of The Athletic, and at least one more discussion is expected.

There are six teams with vacancies as the head coaching carousel begins to spin. Some are already expressing interest in Belichick, including the Atlanta Falcons, according to Dianna Russini of The Athletic. The Carolina Panthers have made an “informal inquiry” too, according to Josina Anderson of CBS Sports. However, Belichick has said he would be open to giving up general manager duties, per Ian Rapoport of NFL Network, which could help him stay in New England.

There's still one year left on his contract, meaning the Patriots would need to either fire or trade him.

Let's dive in with our Bill Belichick next team odds from one of our NFL betting sites.

Bill Belichick next team betting analysis

This market is currently being offered at only one of our best sportsbooks, with DraftKings standing alone.

The Los Angeles Chargers are the favorite at +200, though a return to the Patriots isn't far behind at +300. Those two teams are the only options listed at or below +300, with Belichick not being on an NFL sideline for Week 1 of the 2024 season interestingly given the fourth-shortest price at +600.

The New York Giants, New Orleans Saints, and New York Jets are listed despite not having a vacancy, and those clubs are therefore getting the longest odds. A return to New York in any way would be intriguing, but especially with the Giants, where Belichick spen t 11 years as a coach, including five as the defensive coordinator.

Where will Bill Belichick coach next?

If Belichick leaves at all, the mere presence of Justin Herbert makes the Los Angeles Chargers appealing.

He's much of the reason they're listed as a front-runner. Yes, Herbert struggled in 2023, as did his entire team. However, some of his recent ineffectiveness can be attributed to injuries. He played through a broken finger early in 2023, and his season was then cut short due to a separate finger issue that required surgery. He also suffered a rib cartilage fracture in 2022.

Herbert was impressive during his last fully healthy season in 2021, throwing for 5,014 yards with 38 touchdowns and 15 interceptions. The signal-caller will still be just 26 years old entering Week 1, and he would be the clear solution to what recently ailed Belichick in New England in the years since To m Brady: quarterback stability.

For all the squad's various massive talent gaps elsewhere, the Patriots still trotted out a respectable defense in 2023, largely due to their legendary defensive-minded head coach. But offensively they ranked 30th in yards per game and tied for last in points while averaging a putrid 13.9. That was a product of Belichick continually whiffing while trying to replace Brady and insert the right talent around his offense.

There are plenty of flaws throughout the Chargers' offense, too. But the most critical core weapon is in place, and that's the puzzle piece Belichick needs most.
