The Chicago Bulls are on the road as they make the trip to take on the Charlotte Hornets Monday night to complete a home-and-home set. These teams met on Friday night in the Windy City with the Bulls picking up a 104-91 victory at the United Center, covering the line as an 8.5-point favorite. In the all-time regular season series between the teams, the Bulls own an 81-46 advantage and have won the last four meetings. That includes both meetings this season after prevailing in Friday’s contest.

Chicago got back in the win column as they took down the Hornets at home Friday night in the front half of this home-and-home series. The Bulls improved to 16-21 on the season and stand fourth in the Central Division entering Sunday, 9.5 games behind the Bucks for the top spot. They were 10th in the Eastern Conference playoff picture, five games behind Orlando for the final guaranteed playoff spot. The team did hold the final spot in the play-in tournament by half a game over the Hawks. Against Charlotte, Chicago led by one after the opening quarter and trailed by one with 2:10 to play in the first half before going on a 7-0 run to head into halftime with a six-point lead. The Bulls led by five after three quarters but opened the fourth quarter with an 8-0 run to go in front 82-69 and didn’t let the Hornets closer than nine the rest of the way. Chicago shot 54.1% from the field, including 10 of 28 from three-point range, a nd held Charlotte to 40.4% shooting in the game. Coby White led the Bulls with 22 points, 10 rebounds and six assists in the win.

For the year, Chicago stands 28th in the league in scoring offense with an average of 109.1 points per contest. The Bulls are 21st in rebounding as they collect an average of 43.2 boards a night while they are 29th in assists by handing out an average of 23.5 dimes per contest. Chicago is 7th in scoring defense as they allow an average of 111.5 points per game this season. Zach LaVine is second on the team with 20.7 points per contest on the year. DeMar DeRozan contributes 22.2 points, 3.7 rebounds plus 5.3 assists a night while Nikola Vucevic (16.5 points, 10.3 rebounds) and Ayo Dosunmu each are valuable options. Alex Caruso (10 points), Coby White (17.9 points, 4.9 assists), Andre Drummond, Torrey Craig, Jevon Carter and Patrick Williams (10 points) are looked at to pr ovide valuable minutes as well. As a team, Chicago is 28th in the league in field goal percentage as they knock down 45.4% of their shots on the year. The Bulls are 24th in the league by knocking down 11.6 three-pointers per contest while they stand 20th by hitting 35.5% of their attempts from beyond the arc on the year.

Lonzo Ball (knee) has yet to take the floor this season and hasn’t played since January 14, 2022. He has been shut down for the remainder of the season. Craig (heel) is slated to be out until late February after being diagnosed with an acute sprain of his plantar fascia. Williams (ankle) and Caruso (neck) both missed Friday’s game and are questionable here. Watch for updates regarding their statuses for this game.
