The Timberwolves plan is beginning to work, they drafted Anthony Edwards as the number one pick, and paid a huge price for Rudy Gobert to play in a lineup with two bigs, joining Karl-Anthony Towns. The T-Wolves lead the West, but it is still a tight race, as they are only five games ahead of the Pelicans in 7th place. Minnesota recently dropped two games in a row, a rare sighting this season, but were able to bounce back with a win over Houston. In that game Minnesota was led by Anthony Edwards with 24 points in the win.

Edwards leads the team in scoring at 26.5 PPG while adding 5.2 RPG and 5.1 APG. He is also the top shooter on the team with 2.6 made threes per game on 38.6% shooting from deep. Edwards has been hot lately, he has scored 24 or more in his last eleven games, with a high of 44 last time out against Dallas. Karl-Anthony Towns is the other big time scorer for the T-Wolves, he adds 21.4 PPG to go with 9.1 RPG. Towns has scored 22 or more in his last three, with a high of 29 in the loss to the Knicks. Rudy Gobert and Naz Reid are two frontcourt players who have played in all 34 games, and have scored the exact same amount of points as they each averaged 12.6 per game. Gobert starts at center and leads the team with 11.9 RPG, while Reid leads the second unit off the bench.

Mike Conley is a reliable point guard adding 11.3 PPG and a team high 6.2 APG. Jaden McDaniels typically starts on the wing and adds 10.8 PPG as an athletic wing defender. The Timberwolves rank 17th in the league in offensive efficiency, but have the top ranked defensive unit in terms of efficiency according to dunksandthrees.com. The Timberwolves play at the 20th fastest tempo in the league.
