The Utah Utes are a solid 11-3 this season and 2-1 in Pac-12 play but will hope for better results in the state of Arizona after losing to Arizona State on Thursday night 82-70. The Utes couldn't get anything going offensively and were done in by a series of runs by the Sun Devils to take their first loss in Pac-12 play this season. Branden Carlson led the Utes with a team-high 19 points to go along with eight rebounds. Deivon Smith was the only other double-digit scorer, finishing with 13 points to go along with four rebounds.

The Utes now get a chance to exact some desert revenge as they play the 'other' Arizona school on Saturday. Unfortunately, this might be a bigger fish to corral for the Utes in the 10th-ranked Wildcats. The Utes come into this game with the 36th-ranked scoring offense in the country. They are 26th in field goal percentage and 14th in 3-point shooting. The Utes are also 73rd in 3-point field goals made per game. Defensively, the Utes are ranked 108th in scoring defense this season. They are 51st in field goal defense and 157th in 3-point defense. On the glass, Utah is 34th in the country and they are 134th in turnovers per game.
