The 18th-ranked Baylor Bears come into this Big 12 Conference opener with two straight wins on the season including a 98-79 win over Cornell in their final non-conference game of the season. The Bears were led by Ja'Kobe Walter who scored a team-high 23 points and added a career-best nine rebounds in the win. Baylor hit 55% of their field goal attempts including 14-of-31 from three-point range. Walter was helped by teammates RayJ Dennis and Yves Missi in the victory. Dennis had 18 points and six assists while Missi had a career-high 16 points to go along with five rebounds.

The Bears have been arguably the best offensive team in the country to start the season. They are sixth in scoring offense this season. The Bears are also first in field goal percentage and first in 3-point shooting. They are also 10th in the nation in 3-point field goals per game. The Baylor defense has been solid as well.
