The Chicago Blackhawks face the New Jersey Devils with both teams on opposite ends of the standings this season. The Blackhawks have an 11-24-2 record and have the worst record in the Central Division. The Devils have a 20-14-2 record and with six wins in their last 10 games, they have leaped to the middle of the Metropolitan Division. Both teams are looking to improve in their divisions and the upcoming game should be a good one.

The Blackhawks are having a season to forget with their offense struggling, scoring only 2.35 goals per game. Connor Bedard, Philipp Kurashev, and Jason Dickinson have scored 34 goals and 39 assists to lead the top two lines but the rest of the offense has struggled. Only four active skaters have seven goals or more and opponents can eliminate the hapless offense with ease.

The offense has struggled but the defense has also been a mess, allowing 3.76 goals per game. Alex Vlasic, Nikita Zaitsev, and Connor Murphy have combined for 3.8 defensive point shares but the rest of the unit has struggled, allowing opponents to find open shots on the net with ease.
