The Connecticut Huskies (12-2, 8-6 ATS, 6-7-1 O/U) take on the Butler Bulldogs (10-4, 7-6 ATS,7-5-1 O/U) in a Big East battle on Friday evening. The Huskies posted a home win against DePaul in their previous clash. The Bulldogs were dealt a road loss by St. John’s on Tuesday. UConn went 2-0 against Butler last season.

The Connecticut Huskies are targeting a third consecutive victory. Uconn lost a 75-60 road decision to Seton Hall before the holidays and rebounded in their Big East opener. They were able to post a 69-65 win against a good St. John’s squad. On Tuesday, the Huskies were huge 23-point favorites in a convincing 85-56 home win against DePaul. The Huskies have covered the spread in three of their last five games

Cam Spencer has been reliable, scoring at least 15 points in four of his last five clashes. The senior guard has issued an average of 15.2 PPG. Tristen Newton has reached 20 points on three occasions this season. The senior guard has cooled down recently, shooting below 43% in each of his last five games, and has delivered an average of 15 PPG on 43.8% shooting.  Donovan Clingan is dealing with an ankle injury and will not play which is a big loss. The sophomore center is posting an average of 13.9 PPG.

The Huskies are marked fifth in the country in Ken Pomeroy’s ratings and climbed one spot to #4 in the AP Top 25 this week. Uconn is 0-2 on the road. They have reached 80 points in two of their last five bouts and are scoring an average of 83.1 points on the season, good for 35th.
