The Toronto Maple Leafs face the Anaheim Ducks with both teams on opposite ends of the standings this season. The Maple Leafs have a 17-10-7 record and have the third-best record in the Atlantic Division. The Ducks have a 13-23 record and with only three wins in their last 10 games, they have the second-worst record in the Pacific Division. The Maple Leafs look to remain near the top of the Eastern Conference while the Ducks look to climb out of the bottom of the Western Conference and the upcoming game should be a good one.

The Maple Leafs are having a great season with their offense leading the way, scoring 3.53 goals per game. William Nylander, Auston Matthews, and Mitch Marner have scored 60 goals and 70 assists to lead the top two lines but the rest of the offense has been great as well. John Tavares, Calle Jarnkrok, and Max Domi have combined for 22 goals and 47 assists while defensemen Morgan Rielly and Jake McCabe have added five goals and 32 assists from the point to open up the offense.

The offense has been remarkable but the defense has struggled, allowing 3.44 goals per game. T.J. Brodie and Morgan Rielly have combined for 3.0 defensive point shares but the rest of the unit has struggled, allowing opponents to carry the puck into the offensive zone and create open shots with ease. In addition, the surplus of injuries at the goaltending position will force them to turn to Dennis Hildeby, who has yet to start a game this season.
