The Central Michigan Chippewas are heading to the Joseph J. Gentile Arena against the Loyola Chicago Ramblers in a non-conference game. The Chippewas are 5-6 so far and are on a two-game winning streak after a 75-63 home win on Dec. 21 against the Detroit Mercy Titans. The Ramblers are 7-6 right now and are coming off Dec. 19’s home game against the Charleston Southern Buccaneers 72-59. 

 

The Central Michigan Chippewas are coming off a solid 75-63 home win over the Detroit Mercy Titans and it helps scoring 44 points in the first half of the game. They were able to be lights out shooting throughout the game as the Chippewas were 27-of-58 (46.6 percent) overall, 10-of-20 (50.0 percent) from beyond the arc and 15 trips to the charity stripe. Senior guard Brian Taylor led the way for the program as he played 36 minutes with 19 points, 11 rebounds, two assists and three turnovers. Their defense did a great job as they held Detroit to 31.7 percent from the field, 16.7 percent from deep and 26 shots at the free-throw line. 

The offense of the Central Michigan Chippewas has been scoring the basketball poorly as they were 308th in the nation with 68.2 points per g ame. Their defense has not been doing well either as they are allowing 76.4 points per game, which is 301st in college basketball.
