The Lions have quietly gone under the radar as one of the better teams in the NFL this season and with only three weeks left, will want to grab this win to seal a home playoff game. The Lions have only gone 2-2 over their last four games, losing a pair to NFC North foes, as there has to be concern if that'll happen again in this one. After dominating the Broncos last week by 25 points, Detroit has to be thinking that momentum is working back into their favor. With Dallas up next, a loss in this one could set up a nervy last few weeks for a team that has been plagued by collapses over their lengthy history. With an experienced group on both sides, as well as a strong record away from home already this season, anything but a win would come as a disappointment on Christmas Eve.

Despite the success this season, the Lions do have a lengthy injury report. Nine players have already been ruled ou t for this weekend, while another eight are questionable or probable. On the offensive line, it's good news that Penei Sewell (shoulder) is probable. One to keep an eye on is the availability of Chris Gardner-Johnson (pectoral), as he is questionable and could hurt their depth in the secondary.

Detroit should have a leg up when they have the ball, as they are third in the league in both total offense and yards per play. They have leaned heavily on one of the NFL's most dynamic backfields, which comes in second in rushing yards. Adding in experience at quarterback and a passing unit that ranks fourth, there are plenty of opportunities for this offense to find success. Defensively, the secondary will need to find a way to hold up against a strong wide receiver room on the other side but if they can lean on their pass rush, it could take Minnesota out of their rhythm.
