In recent weeks, Los Angeles Rams quarterback Matthew Stafford has been one of the hottest players in the league, resembling the player who led this franchise to a Super Bowl just two years ago. Over the last five weeks, Stafford has amassed 1,250 passing yards and thrown 13 touchdowns, propelling Los Angeles to a 4-1 record and keeping their long-shot Super Bowl odds alive.  

Stafford's performance has propelled the Rams to the current No. 7 seed in the NFC with a 7-7 overall record. They must handle the 7-7 New Orleans Saints to position themselves favorably down the stretch. The question remains: Will Stafford lead the way for Los Angeles on Thursday Night Football?

Let's start with a fun way to have action on this Thursday Night Football matchup. If you believe in the Rams as well as Stafford's r ecent form, this same-game parlay is worth a look at -120 odds on FanDuel. The same SGP is priced at -130 via DraftKings.

Most of our best sports betting apps have Stafford's passing prop hovering in the high 240s, which is right in line with his projection. His -350 value to throw 200-plus passing yards has a 77.8% implied probability, so that certainly feels like the safer route in this case.

Stafford has thrown for at least 200 yards in four straight games and 11 times on the year. We believe in his chances to continue that trend but are showing a bit more respect to a Saints squad that ranks fourth in PFF coverage grade. However, it's worth mentioning that Stafford threw for 294 yards against a Baltimore Ravens defense that ranked third in coverage grade just two weeks ago.

I've certainly been guilty of making fun of Stafford's gunslinger mentality in the past, as it's led to some pretty memorable interceptions in crucial moments. But the reality is, Stafford has been taking care of the ball better than most this season.

Stafford hasn't thrown an interception in three straight games, which includes back-to-back matchups against the two best defenses in the league in the Cleveland Browns and Ravens. Per PFF, Stafford has just nine turnover-worthy plays on the year. There are 27 different quarterbacks in the league with more turnover-worthy plays this season.

We are getting plus-money odds because the Saints are a formidable defense and Stafford probably won't ever shake the narrative about him. But I don't believe an INT has better than a coin-flip chance of happening, which is what these odds would indicate.
