Non-conference action continues on Sunday with a meeting between the USC Trojans (5-4, 4-5 ATS) and the Auburn Tigers (7-2, 5-4 ATS). USC just took a bad home loss to Long Beach State, going down 84-79 in overtime as 14.5-point favorites. Auburn is fresh off an easy win over UNC Asheville 87-62 in the Rocket City Classic, covering the 19.5-point spread. These teams met last season, with USC pulling out a three point win at home. USC's last game was the most talked about four-point debut of the season. Bronny James played his first game as a trojan, scoring four points in 17 minutes off the bench, but showed flashes of the player he can become. James had a chase down block that looked similar to the plays his father has been making in the NBA for years. Bronny was a top recruit, who was sidelined with a health issue surrounding his heart. He is expected to play here, but it is unclear if he will be in the starting lineup. In their last game, USC was led by Isaiah Collier with 15 points and five steals in the loss.
Isaiah Collier is projected to be a lottery pick in the upcoming draft, he is a an athletic 6'5 guard scoring 17.0 PPG. Collier attacks the basket more than he settles for outside shots, Collier leads the team in free throw attempts on the season with 61, but is only converting 67.2% of his attempts. Boogie Ellis is their top scorer, he averages 21.4 PPG which is 14th in the entire nation. Ellis is a 6'3 senior guard, and the best shooter on the team with 31 made threes on the season, while shooting a scorching 46.3% from deep. Ellis has scored in double figures every game this season, while reaching his high of 28 in three separate games.
