The Philadelphia 76ers travel down the coast to take on the Charlotte Hornets on Saturday night in the second game of a back-to-back for both teams. The Sixers are near the top of the Eastern Conference standings as they adjust to a new coach while the Hornets are struggling through the first part of the season, especially with the loss of All-Star point guard LaMelo Ball to a recent injury. The opening tap is scheduled for 7:10 PM EST.

The NBA's reigning MVP, Joel Embiid, is reminding everyone just why he won the award last season with his stellar play over the last week. The big man is averaging nearly 40 points per game this week and over 12 rebounds per game. As a result, the Sixers have won four straight games and are tied with the Magic for the third spot in the Eastern Conference heading into last night's matchup with the Detroit Pistons, the second game in a home-and-home short series. The return of Kelly Oubre Jr. from a rib injury has strengthened the Sixers' rotation and given them more firepower, particularly from the perimeter.

“I like (Kelly's) shooting and his confidence,” Sixers' head coach Nick Nurse said. “He made a couple threes that were pretty heavily guarded. That comes in handy sometimes when you are searching a little bit for offense.”

Th e Sixers are in the middle of a great stretch of winnable games for them after playing the Pistons in back-to-back games and two games against the lowly Wizards. The Sixers are fourth in scoring offense in the NBA thus far. They are seventh in field goal percentage and sixth in 3-point field goal percentage. The Sixers are 16th in the league in 3-point field goals per game. They are also 9th in assist-to-turnover ratio all while learning a new system under Nick Nurse. Defensively, the Sixers are 12th in points allowed per game this season. They are 13th in field goal percentage and ninth in three-point defense. The Sixers are currently 12th in the league in total rebounds per game.

Key Injuries: No injuries to report.
