The Washington Commanders are all but out of the playoff chase at just 4-9 on the season but they will likely use the final four games to figure out the direction of the team. Amid a four-game losing streak, the Commanders may find themselves considering some critical choices in the offseason both at quarterback and head coach. The team already moved on from Defensive Coordinator Jack Del Rio three weeks ago, as head coach Ron Rivera has taken over the defensive playcalling duties. Over the last four games, the Commanders have lost by an average of 20 points per game including a 45-15 loss to the Dolphins two weeks ago before heading out on a bye. The team has now lost nine of the last 11 games since winning each of the first two games of this season.

“We can’t do the things we did and expect to win,” Rivera said. “We didn’t really give ourselves a chance.”

The Commanders have been sinking fast as the season winds to a close. Quarterback Sam Howell's play has dropped off since opening the season as one of the early surprises in the league. The Commanders' ground game has been strong in recent weeks, ranking fourth over the last three weeks. They are just 22nd in passing over that same span however. The Commanders are 9th in converting red zone opportunities into touchdowns in the last three weeks. Defensively, the Commanders are 27th in total defense over the last three weeks, including allowing over 90 points in the last two games. They are 20th against the run and just 28th against the pass in the last three weeks. The Commanders have been coughing up the football with regularity lately, ranked last in the NFL in turnovers over the last three weeks.

Key Injuries: LB J. Davis (shoulder) is out. G S.Charles (calf), RB B.Robinson (hamstring), CB E.Forbes (elbow), RB A.Armah (hamstring) and DE J.Sm ith-Williams (hamstring) are all questionable.
