The Los Angeles Rams have suddenly thrust themselves back into the NFC playoff picture courtesy of a three-game win streak with them at 6-6. On Sunday, the Rams defeated the Browns 36-19 at home thanks to a three-touchdown pass day from quarterback Matt Stafford. In all, Stafford finished 22-of-37 for 279 yards and has now thrown eight touchdown passes to just two interceptions in the Rams' last three games. His three touchdown passes on the day went to Puka Nacua, Demarcus Robinson and Cooper Kupp. Stafford was given time in the game thanks to an offensive line which did not allow a sack to the Cleveland Browns' top-rated defense. The Rams are now tied with four teams at 6-6 as they battle for the last two wild card spots in the NFC.
“We came to life in the most important moments,” coach Sean McVay said. “If we continue to play this way, then you continue to have conversations where you&# x2019;re relevant to maybe earn an opportunity to play afterwards.”
The Rams have steadily improved over their last three games, riding the 3-game win streak into Baltimore. Over the course of those games, the Rams are fourth in scoring offense. They are also third in rushing offense thanks to the healthy return of running back Kyren Williams, who scored a rushing touchdown on Sunday. They are also 11th in passing and 11th in turning red zone opportunities into touchdowns. Defensively, the Rams are 7th in scoring defense over the last three weeks. They are ninth against the run and 20th against the pass in that same timespan. They haven not been as effective in preventing red zone touchdowns, ranked just 22nd in the NFL.
Key Injuries: WR P. Nacua (shoulder) probable. LB B. Young (knee), LB M. Hoecht (knee), TE T. Higbee (neck), and DB Q. Lake (hamstring) are all questionable.
