A pair of Eastern Conference teams take the floor looking to put one in the win column as they collide in the City of Brotherly Love. The Atlanta Hawks are on the road as they make the trip to take on the Philadelphia 76ers Friday night. Atlanta comes in off a 114-113 home loss to Brooklyn in their previous contest Wednesday night, losing outright as a 3.5-point favorite. Philadelphia took down Washington 131-126 Wednesday night on the road though they failed to cover the line as a 10.5-point favorite. In the all-time regular season series between the teams, the 76ers own a 202-193 advantage and have won the last four meetings. That includes a 126-116 road win in the first matchup this season on November 17.

Atlanta lost for the seventh time in 10 games as they were beaten at home by Brooklyn in their previous contest Wednesday night. The Hawks fell to 9-11 on the season with their second straight loss and stood third in the Southeast Division, 4.5 games behind the Magic for the top spot. They held the final spot in the play-in tournament by half a game over the Raptors. Against Brooklyn, Atlanta led by as many as seven in the first quarter and held a two-point edge after one. The Hawks led by three at the half and by one after three quarters: in a back and forth final stanza, they gave up the winning bucket with five seconds to play. Trae Young’s last attempt just ahead of the buzzer was off the mark, leaving the Hawks on the wrong side of the scoreboard. Atlanta shot 44.7% from the field, including 12 of 35 from three-point range, and held a 49-45 edge on the glass only to fall a point short. Young led the Hawks with 30 points and nine assists in the loss.

The Hawks enter this contest 2nd in scoring offense by averaging 122.7 points per game. Atlanta is 11th in rebounding by collecting 44.5 boards a night while the team stands 23rd by dishing out 25.4 assists per contest. De’Andre Hunter chips in 14.3 points a game while Dejounte Murray pours in 20 points, 4.4 rebounds and 5.3 assists a night. Clint Capela (10.6 points, 10.2 rebounds), AJ Griffin, Onyeka Okongwu, Saddiq Bey (12.8 points), Jalen Johnson (14.1 points, 7.3 rebounds), Wesley Matthews and Bogdan Bogdanovic (16 points) are key rotation pieces for coach Quin Snyder. Atlanta is 16th in the league in field goal percentage by hitting 47.1% of their shots from the floor this season. The Hawks are 8th in threes per game as they hit 13.8 per contest and stand 10th in three-point percentage as they hit 37% of their attempts from beyond the arc.

Johnson (wrist) suffered a fracture in the game against the Wizards on November 25. He is expected to be out until late December at this point.
