A pair of Western Conference teams take the floor as they look to pick up a victory in the Lone Star State. The Oklahoma City Thunder are on the road as they travel to take on the Houston Rockets Wednesday night. Oklahoma City downed Dallas 126-120 on the road in their previous contest Saturday night, covering the line as a 5.5-point favorite. Houston was downed 107-97 on the road by the Lakers in their previous game, failing to cover the line as a 4.5-point underdog. In the all-time regular season series between the teams, the Thunder own a 119-115 advantage and took the last two meetings. That includes a 133-96 home win in the most recent matchup on February 15, 2023.

The Mavericks improved to 13-6 on the season and stand tied for second in the Northwest Division, two games behind the Timberwolves for the top spot in the division. Against Dallas, Oklahoma City led by six after the opening quarter, by 16 at the half, by 23 after three quarters and by 24 with 11:09 to play before giving up a massive 30-0 run that left them down 117-111 with 4:18 remaining. The Thunder regrouped, finishing the game on a 15-3 run, to earn the victory. Oklahoma City shot 44% from the field, including 20 of 44 from three-point range, and hit 18 of 22 free throw attempts in the game. Jalen Williams led the Thunder with 23 points, five rebounds and five assists in the win.

This season, the Thunder are 5th in the league in scoring offense as they average 119.7 points per gam e on the year. Oklahoma City is 25th in rebounding with 41.8 boards per contest while they are 18th in assists with 25.6 dimes a night. The Thunder are 9th in the league in scoring defense as they allow an average of 111.4 points a night.
