CFP picture after Week 14

If you wanted chaos, you got it. The biggest game for shaking up the College Football Playoff rankings was the SEC Championship Game between Alabama and Georgia and the upset happened. The Crimson Tide beat the Bulldogs, who hadn’t lost in nearly two calendar years, to give the Committee a lot of decisions to make on Sunday.

We’ve never had a CFP without the SEC champ, so it seems unlikely that the Committee will be unable to find a way to put Alabama in the Top 4. Whose spot they would take was up in the air throughout the day, but that victory brought the Texas Longhorns into the spotlight as well.

Not only did the Longhorns blow out Oklahoma State and put up some style points, but Texas owns a head-to-head triumph over the Crimson Tide. It is easy for the Committee to say that Alabama is a different team now than what they were then, but Texas seems to be pretty close to the same team and many would argue that they were the better team in the Red River loss to Oklahoma.

So, what does the Committee do?
