Colorado Avalanche (15-6-1) vs. Anaheim Ducks (9-14-0)

The 2023-24 NHL season continues Saturday, December 2, with the Colorado Avalanche facing off against the Anaheim Ducks in the Western Conference showdown at Honda Center in Anaheim, California, with the puck drop at 10:00 PM ET.

Colorado and Anaheim continue their three-game regular-season series. The Avs trounced the Ducks 8-2 at home on November 15. Colorado aims for its fourth consecutive victory over Anaheim, so let’s take a closer look.

The Colorado Avalanche are coming off Thursday’s 4-3 overtime defeat at the Arizona Coyotes. After four straight wins over Vancouver 5-2, Minnesota 3-2, Calgary 3-1, and Tampa Bay 4-1, the Avs failed to satisfy the odds as firm -190 moneyline favorites at Mullett Arena in Tempe, Arizona.

Colorado went 2-for-3 with the man advantage against the Yotes. Cale Makar, Nathan MacKinnon, and Miles Wood scored a goal apiece, Mikko Rantanen had a couple of dishes, and Alexandar Georgiev yielded four goals on 32 shots.

The Avalanche are third in the NHL in goals for (3.73 per game) and tenth in goals against (2.86). They own the fifth-best penalty-killing percentage in the league (87.2%). Alexandar Georgiev is projected to patrol the crease Saturday in Anaheim, and the 27-year-old goalie is 13-5-1 with a 2.89 GAA and a .899 save percentage this season.
