It’s a battle of Central Division teams on the hardwood as a pair of teams looking to pick up a victory take the floor in the Windy City. The Milwaukee Bucks are on the road as they make the short trip to take on the Chicago Bulls Thursday night. Milwaukee earned a 131-124 road win over Miami in their previous contest Tuesday night, covering the line as a 4.5-point favorite. Chicago was blown out 124-97 on the road by Boston Tuesday night in their previous contest, failing to cover the line as a 12.5-point underdog. In the all-time regular season series between the teams, the Bulls own a 134-130 advantage but the Bucks have taken the last three meetings. That includes a 118-109 home win in the first meeting this season on November 13.

Milwaukee won their third straight and their eighth in the last nine games as they took down the Heat in Miami Tuesday night. The Bucks improved to 13-5 on the season and entered Wednesday holding a three-game lead on the Pacers and Cavaliers for the top spot in the Central Division standings. Against Miami, Milwaukee jumped in front 15-2 five minutes into the game and held a nine-point edge after the opening quarter. The Bucks were down three at the half and by four after three quarters. They were down three with 3:25 to play before closing the game on a 16-6 run to earn the win. Milwaukee shot 53.4% from the field, including 13 of 35 from three-point range, and went 24 of 27 at the free throw line to Miami’s 14 of 21 in the victory. Giannis Antetokounmpo led the Bucks with 33 points, 10 rebounds and five assists in the win.

The Bucks are 3rd in the league in scoring offense with 120.9 points per game on the season. Milwaukee is 18th in rebounding by pulling down 43.8 boards per contest while the team is 25th by dishing out 24.4 assists per game. The Bucks are 23rd in the league in scoring defense as they allow 117.8 points per contest this season. Giannis Antetokounmpo is leading Milwaukee with 30.1 points, 10.6 rebounds and 4.6 assists per contest this season. Brook Lopez chips in 13.2 points plus 5.1 boards per game while Damian Lillard (26 points, 6.4 assists), Bobby Portis (11.5 points, 6.3 boards), Khris Middleton (12 points) and Malik Beasley (11.2 points) are good secondary scoring options. Jae Crowder, Cameron Payne, Pat Connaughton, MarJon Beauchamp, AJ Green and Andre Jackson Jr. are solid pieces in the mix as well. Milwaukee is 3rd in the league in field goal percentage by shooting 49.2% as a team this season. The Bucks are 7th in threes per game by draining 13.9 triples per contest and stand 7th in three-point shooting by hitting 37.4% of their attempts from beyond the arc.

Crowder (groin) last played on November 11 and suffered a left adductor plus an abdominal tear. He is expected to be out at least eight weeks, putting him out until sometime in January at best.
