Teams that rarely meet will give fans an exciting treat on Wednesday night. A win in the Garden made it seven straight for the Suns, who pulled it off without KD. Devin Booker's 28 points, including the game-winning three with two seconds left, got the job done. NBA.com has this team fifth in offensive rating, even without their three stars sharing the floor yet. Outside of a turnover percentage that's 23rd, the Suns do most things well. That includes the NBA's second-highest three-point percentage (39.3%), third-highest free throw rate, and fourth-best free throw percentage. They're also a top-10 offensive rebounding team. Keeping the Suns off the scoreboard is a tough task for anyone.
On the other end, they're 18th in defensive rating. Here, forcing turnovers and grabbing rebounds is a struggle. Phoenix is also 21st in rim attempts allowed and 20th in rim shooting percentage against. However, a much stronger perimeter defense, especially at deterring t hrees, limits the damage against the Suns. Phoenix also leads the NBA in blocks per game. This defense isn't perfect, but there are plenty of strengths.
