The fourth and fifth place teams in the NL West Division continue their weekend set on Saturday as the Colorado Rockies play host to the Arizona Diamondbacks. The D-Backs are playing better baseball as of late and have separated themselves somewhat from the last-place Rockies. The pitching matchup for Saturday night will be Arizona veteran lefty Madison Bumgarner (6-13, 4.83) taking on right-hander Jose Urena (3-6, 6.13) of the Rockies. First pitch is scheduled for 8:10pm EST.

The Arizona Diamondbacks have been sneaky-good over the last few weeks even as they have played some of the better teams in baseball. In their last four series, all against playoff-hopeful squads, the D-Backs have gone 8-4 and won three of the four series. The highlight of the run was a three out of four games series win over the Brewers in Arizona. Following that series, the D-Backs did win the opener of their series in San Diego before losing each of the next two games. On Friday night, in the series opener with Colorado, the Diamondbacks came back from an 8-1 deficit to take a 10-8 lead but coughed up the lead late and lost on a walk-off home run, 13-10.

Arizona's excellent play has coincided with a hot-hitting lineup. In their last 12 games, the D-Backs have hit .266 as a team and averaged 5.9 runs per game while belting 16 home runs over this run. The thin air of Colorado is likely going to be a welcome sight for the hot Arizona hitters. On the mound on Saturday, hoping to benefit from Arizona's hitting, will be veteran lefty Madison Bumgarner. Bumgarner has struggled recently, going 0-3 in his last five starts with an ERA of 8.77. He has allowed 40 hits in just 25.2 innings over that span and given up four home runs. He is 1-0 against the Rockies this season with a 4.26 ERA in two starts.
