Kentucky struggled to pull away in the first half, but was able to outscore Miami (Ohio) 24-3 in the second half. Will Levis threw for 303 yards, three touchdowns, and one interception for the Wildcats. Kavosiey Smoke rushed for 32 yards, while Tayvion Robinson caught six passes for 136 yards in the Kentucky win. The Kentucky defense allowed 290 yards and forced one turnover in the game.
The Florida Gators are 1-0 this year after defeating Utah by a score of 29-26 in Week 1. This was a back and forth game until Florida scored with 1:25 to take the lead. Utah drove down the field but threw an interception in the end zone. Anthony Richardson threw for 168 yards and added 106 yards and three touchdowns on the ground for the Gators. Montrell Johnson Jr. rushed for 75 yards and one touchdown, while Ricky Pearsall caught four passes for 67 yards for Florida. The Florida defense allowed 446 yards (230 yards rushing) and forced one turnover in the win.
