The Lightning are having a great season with their offense stepping up and scoring 3.71 goals per game with 25 goals in the last five games. Nikita Kucherov, Brayden Point, and Steven Stamkos have scored 35 goals and 52 assists to lead the top two lines but the rest of the offense has been great as well. Brandon Hagel, Nick Paul, and Tanner Jeannot have combined for 22 goals and 19 assists while defensemen Victor Hedman and Mikhail Sergachev have added six goals and 31 assists from the point to open up the offense.

The offense has been great but the defense has struggled, allowing 3.52 goals per game. Victor Hedman and Erik Cernak have combined for 2.2 defensive point shares but the rest of the unit has struggled, allowing opponents to find open shots on the net with ease. The hope is that goaltender Andrei Vasilevskiy can build off a strong start as he saved 22 of the 24 shots faced in his sea son debut.
