The Colorado Avalanche are coming off Wednesday’s 5-2 home victory over the Vancouver Canucks. It was their fourth win in five games, and the Avalanche have scored a staggering 27 goals during that stretch.

The Avs scored three unanswered goals in the third period to see off the Canucks’ challenge. Colorado was outshot 29-25, but the Avs killed all of Vancouver’s three power-play opportunities while going 1-for-4 with the man advantage. Five different players found the back of the net including Mikko Rantanen and Valeri Nichushkin.

Colorado is third in the NHL in goals for (3.83 per game) and 13th in goals against (3.06). The Avs boast the fourth-best penalty-killi ng percentage in the league (87.3%) while going 14-for-71 with the man advantage (18th in the NHL).

Alexandar Georgiev is projected to patrol the crease Friday in Saint Paul. The 27-year-old netminder is 11-5-0 with a 3.01 GAA and a .891 save percentage this season. He’s been between the pipes in each of Colorado’s last six games.
