Montana has split their first four games with a loss coming at Oregon on Nov. 10, 75-61 as a 16-point underdog. Their only D1 win came against UC Davis on Nov. 12, 78-65. They last played on Nov. 16 at home and fell to North Dakota State 78-69. Montana turned the ball over just seven times, but they shot just 3-of-14 from three-point range and the Bison shot 9-of-23 (39%) along with 19 of 23 (83%) from the line.
Montana was 17-12 last season and they were an 8-point favorite over North Dakota State. They were supposed to get a boost from Giordan Williams, a Santa Clara transfer guard. But he's shooting just 25% from the field and is averaging just 2.3 points. Aaron Moody did return after averaging over 16 points last season and is putting up 183. points and 3.3 rebounds on 50% shooting in four games.
Offensively, the Grizzlies are struggling from the three-point line (31%), but are sho oting well overall. Defensively, they are allowing just 69.3 points per game on 41.3% shooting (147th) and 32.3% (189th) from long range.
