St. Louis Blues (8-6-1) vs. Anaheim Ducks (9-8-0)

The 2023-24 NHL season goes on Sunday, November 19, with the St. Louis Blues facing off against the Anaheim Ducks in the Western Conference showdown at Honda Center in Anaheim, California, with the puck drop at 8:00 PM ET.

St. Louis and Anaheim open their three-game regular-season series. The Blues swept a three-game set against the Ducks in 2022-23 and are looking for their fifth consecutive victory over Anaheim.

Saturday’s games have been excluded from this preview, and the St. Louis Blues visited the Los Angeles Kings, hoping to return to winning ways. Last Thursday, the Blues put an end to their three-game win streak with a surprising 5-1 defeat at the San Jose Sharks.

St. Louis outshot San Jose 45-35, but it wasn’t enough, as Kaapo Kahkonen had a big game in the crease for the Sharks. The Blues fell apart in the second period when they conceded four goals, and Pavel Buchnevich scored a consolation goal for St. Louis in the third.

The Blues were 25th in the league in goals for (2.80 per game) and seventh in goals against (2.67) on Saturday. Jordan Binnington was expected to gua rd the cage against the Kings, so we could see Joel Hofer between the pipes on Sunday. Hofer yielded four goals on 21 shots last Thursday and was pulled off from the game in the second period. He’s now 3-2-0 with a 3.20 GAA and a .902 save percentage this season.
