The Denver Nuggets (9-3, 5-7 ATS, 3-9 O/U) battle the Cleveland Cavaliers (6-6, 4-8 ATS, 6-6 O/U) on Sunday evening. The Nuggets were dealt a road loss against the Pelicans in their previous bout. The Cavaliers recorded a home win against the Pistons on Friday. The Nuggets went 2-0 against the Cavaliers last season.

The Denver Nuggets are in the early stages of a five-game road trek. The squad is enjoying an outstanding opening month. Their first defeat was on the road against Minnesota and the second was a surprising defeat to the Rockets last week. They beat the Clippers by a 111-108 score on Tuesday and were five-point favorites in a 115-110 road loss against the Pelicans on Friday. The Nuggets have covered the spread in only one of their last five bouts. 

Nikola Jokic continues to dazzle. The 28-year-old center has collected at least 30 points in all but three games this month. He scored 26 points on Friday and is sporting an average of 29.7 PPG complemented by a 14.1 RPG. Jokic averaged 26 points and 16.5 RPG in two meetings against the Cavaliers last season. Jamal Murray has not played since early this month due to a hamstring injury. He is with the team bu t remains questionable. The veteran is averaging 16 PPG on the season. Michael Porter Jr. has reached 20 points on four occasions this month. The 25-year-old small forward is third in team scoring with 16.4 PPG accompanied by 8.2 RPG.

Denver had a successful opening slate of road games early in the year but has struggled since to dip to 2-3 on the road this season including a narrow loss to the Rockets. The Nuggets are scoring an average of 114.1 points on the season, ranking them 12th. They are allowing an average of 107 points, good for fifth in the NBA.
