The Seattle Kraken put an end to a three-game losing streak last Thursday, outlasting the New York Islanders 4-3 in a shootout. Seattle has struggled a lot so far this season and dropped five of its previous seven games overall. 

The Kraken outshot the Islanders 32-23 while going 3-for-4 with the man advantage. Kailer Yamamoto found the back of the net early in the third period to tie the game at 3-3 and scored the winner in the eighth round of a shootout. 

Seattle is scoring just 2.56 goals per game (29th in the NHL) on an 8.6 shooting percentage (27th). The Kraken have been struggling on the other side of the p uck, too, surrendering 3.50 goals per contest (tied-24th). At least, they are seventh in the league in power-play percentage (15-for-56). 

Philipp Grubauer guarded the cage last Thursday and improved to 4-6-0 on the season. The 31-year-old netminder holds a 3.30 GAA and a .890 save percentage, but he’s emerged victorious in four of his previous six starts. Grubauer is projected to patrol the crease Saturday in Vancouver, while Joey Daccord (2-2-4; 3.00 GAA; .899 SV%) should serve as a backup.
