The New Orleans Saints are on the road as they make the trip to take on the Minnesota Vikings in week 10 of the NFL season Sunday afternoon. New Orleans scratched out a 24-17 home win over the Bears last Sunday in their previous contest, though they failed to cover the line as a 10-point favorite. Minnesota pulled off an improbable 31-28 road over Atlanta last Sunday, winning outright as a 3.5-point underdog, in their previous game. In the all-time regular season series between the teams, the Vikings own a 20-12 advantage, including a 28-25 road victory in the most recent matchup on October 2, 2022.

New Orleans won their second straight game as they managed to earn a home win over the Bears, though they left several opportunities to put the game away on the field. The Saints improved to 5-4 on the season and enter this week holding the top spot in the NFC South by half a game over Atlanta. Against Chicago, New Orleans was even at seven after the opening quarter, at 14 at the half and at 17 after three quarters. The Saints took the lead on a three-yard touchdown pass from Taysom Hill to Juwan Johnson with 11:05 remaining and their defense stepped up the rest of the way, picking off two passes, forcing a three-and-out and then recovering a fumble on the Bears’ final drive. New Orleans did turn the ball over on downs at the Bears’ 17 and missed a field goal that could have salted the win away in that stretch but still prevailed. The Saints were outgained 368-301 in total offense, gave up 20 first downs while picking up 18 an d lost the time of possession by a 30:20 to 29:40 margin yet still prevailed. New Orleans forced five Chicago turnovers while not committing one in the game.

On the season, the Saints stand 10th in the league in passing offense with 239.9 yards per contest while they are 18th in rushing offense with 103.9 yards per game. New Orleans is 15th in the league in scoring offense with 21.7 points per contest while they are 7th in the league in scoring defense by allowing an average of 19 points a game. Derek Carr is 207 of 316 passing for 2,121 yards with 10 touchdowns and four interceptions. He has been sacked 19 times. Taysom Hill is five of six for 72 yards plus a score and is second on the team with 255 yards plus three scores on 49 carries. Jameis Winston is 10 of 17 for 101 yards and an interception in his action. Jamaal Williams has 41 carries for 124 yards while Alvin Kamara (95 carries, 346 yards , two TD), Tony Jones Jr. (21 carries, 70 yards, two TD) and Kendre Miller (28 carries, 83 yards) have seen work on the ground as well. Chris Olave leads the team with 50 receptions for 563 yards and two touchdowns this season. Michael Thomas (38 catches, 439 yards, TD), Rashid Shaheed (26 grabs, 501 yards, three TD), Kamara (43 receptions, 272 yards, TD), Hill (20 grabs, 142 yards, TD) and tight end Juwan Johnson (13 receptions, 95 yards, TD) are solid targets. Blake Grupe is 19 of 19 on extra point attempts and 18 of 23 on field goal attempts with a long of 55 on the year.

The Saints have a light injury report ahead of the weekend. Running back Kendre Miller (ankle) and defensive end Isaiah Foskey (quadricep) both missed practice Wednesday and Thursday. Watch for any further information ahead of kickoff for their statuses.
