Los Angeles Lakers (3-5) vs. Phoenix Suns (4-4)

The 2023-24 NBA season goes on Friday, November 10, with a nine-game slate including the Pacific Division showdown at Footprint Center in Phoenix, Arizona, so here’s the best Lakers vs. Suns betting pick.

The Lakers meet the Suns for the second time this term. Los Angeles outlasted Phoenix 100-95 in Week 1, playing as a 6.5-point home fave, and the Lakers aim for their fourth straight victory over the Suns.

The Los Angeles Lakers (3-5; 2-6 ATS) extended their losing streak to three games last Wednesday. They were trounced by the Houston Rockets 128-94. Houston bullied Purple-and-Gold from start to finish, and the Lakers shot only 42.9% from the field (7-for-25 from downtown) while posting 23 rebounds fewer than their rivals.

Anthony Davis sat out the Rockets game due to an injury and is questionable to play Friday against the Suns. Rui Hachimura led the charge for the Lakers last Wednesday, tallying 24 points and eight rebounds off the bench, while D’Angelo Russell had 22 points, four assists, and three blocks. Christian Wood went scoreless in 22 minutes on the floor.

The Lakers own the third-lowest offensive rating in the NBA (106.4 points per 100 possess ions). They are bottom of the league in 3-point percentage (29.6%) and offensive rebound percentage (17.5%). Their defense ranks 16th in defensive efficiency (113.5 points per 100 possessions), 22nd in 3-point percentage (37.2%), and 18th in defensive rebound percentage (75.1%), so it’s fair to say that the Lakers are off to a bad start to the season.
