The Minnesota Wild face the New York Rangers with both teams looking to build off of strong starts to the season. The Wild have a 5-5-2 record and with back-to-back wins, they have leaped to the middle of the Central Division. The Rangers have a 9-2-1 record and are in first place in the Metropolitan Division. Both teams look to improve within their divisions and the upcoming game should be a great one.

The Wild are having a great season with their offense leading the way, scoring 3.58 goals per game with nine goals in the last two games. Joel Eriksson Ek, Mats Zuccarello, and Kirill Kaprisov have scored 14 goals and 24 assists to lead the top two lines but the rest of the offense has stepped up as well. Ryan Hartman, Marcus Johansson, and Pat Maroon have combined for 10 goals and 17 assists while defensemen Jacob Middleton and Jonas Brodin have added three goals and 11 assists from the point to put the offense over the top.

The offense has been great but the defense has struggled, allowing 4.00 goals per game. Jonas Brodin and Brock Faber have combined for 1.6 defensive point shares but the rest of the unit has struggled, allowing opponents to find open shots on the net with ease. Additionally, goaltender Marc-Andre Fleury has struggled with a .899 save percentage and a 2.69 goals-against ave rage on 159 shots with -0.8 goals saved above average.
