The Vancouver Canucks face the Ottawa Senators with both teams heading in opposite directions to begin the season. The Canucks have a 9-2-1 record and with four wins in a row, they have the second-best record in the Pacific Division. The Senators have a 4-6 record and are in last place in the Atlantic Division. The Canucsk look to remain near the top of the Western Conference while the Senators are hoping to climb out of last place and the upcoming game should be a good one.

The Canucks are having a great season with their offense leading the way, scoring 4.50 goals per game with 23 goals in the last four games. Elias Pettersson, J.T. Miller, and Brock Boeser have scored 13 goals and 31 assists to lead the top two lines but the rest of the offense has been great as well. Andrei Kuzmenko, Sam Lafferty, and Ilya Mikheyev have combined for nine goals and 13 assists while defensemen Quinn Hughes and Filip Hronek have added five goals and 28 assists from the point to put the offense over the top.

The offense has been great but the defense has also stepped up, allowing only 2.00 goals per game including only five goals in the last four games. Hughes and Hronek have led the top two pairings with 2.5 defensive point shares and 23 blocked shots while Tyler Myers, Ian Cole, and Carson Soucy have combined for 2.2 defensive point shares to round out the unit. In addition, goaltende r Thatcher Demko has been great with a .948 save percentage and a 1.61 goals-against average on 269 shots with 11.8 goals saved above average.
