Two of the Eastern Conference's Central division teams will meet for the first time on Wednesday. The Detroit Pistons (2-6; 3-5-0 ATS) and Milwaukee Bucks (4-2; 1-4-1 ATS) are sharing the Fiserv Forum floor, beginning at 8:00 p.m. EDT. The Bucks have won the last five meetings. Can they push it to six, or will the Pistons finally beat their division rivals? Wednesday will answer those questions.

Nobody does it better when it comes to NBA picks!

The Pistons began this season 2-1 behind a bruising defense. They enter this game 2-6, with each loss during the five-game skid coming by at least nine points. In the latest loss, 120-109 against the Warriors, Jalen Duren and Alec Burks were among the team's inactives. They're important players who are questionable for this game too. Offensive rebounding is one of Detroit's greatest strengths (5th in OR%), which is where they've missed Duren the most. Elsewhere, things are much uglier. Only one team has a higher turnover rate than the Pistons offense, and only two teams shoot worse within five feet of the rim. The Pistons may hit 39.2% of their threes (3rd in the NBA), but only 33.5% of their shots come from beyond the arc (29th). Their 82.6% clip from the free throw line is fourth, yet Detroit is only 23rd in free throw rate, which measures how frequently teams get to the line. The building blocks are in place for the Pistons, but the results aren't there yet.

Flipping to the defense that has come down to earth, they still excel at defending the rim. Along with holding enemies to 55.1% at the rim (2nd), Detroit has held opponents to 31.6% of their field goals coming from deep (2nd). However, the Pistons put opposing players on the free throw line more than any other team. Detroit is also among the 10 worst teams when it comes to forcing turnovers and defensive rebounding. After a hot start, Detroit looks like the team most people expected entering the season. Competitive at times, but still clearly young and rebuilding.
